The Statesboro Police Department has identified Khalir Nickens, a 21-year-old from Sylvania, Georgia, as the primary suspect in the fatal shooting of 30-year-old Deontre Mincey on October 25, 2025. In the early morning incident, Mincey was shot in a commercial parking lot, resulting in his death, while a second individual sustained a non-life-threatening injury.
