50 Firearms Collected at Staten Island Buyback Event

Authorities collect 50 firearms during a “no questions asked” Cash for Guns buyback event in Staten Island, aimed at enhancing public safety. Held at Christ Assembly Lutheran Church, the event gathers a range of arms, including 25 revolvers and one assault weapon, aligning with ongoing efforts to reduce gun violence.

Since its inception in 2016, the buyback initiative has removed nearly 1,000 firearms from circulation, reinforcing Staten Island’s position as one of the safest boroughs in New York City. District Attorney Michael E. McMahon highlights the program’s critical role in preventing gun violence, stating that “one less gun on our streets could save a life.”
