Hunters Feeding the Hungry has partnered with the Hot Springs Area Community Foundation to combat child hunger by distributing nutritious snack sticks to local elementary schools. On Thursday, the team delivered packages of food to Langston Aerospace and Environmental Magnet School, Oaklawn STEM Magnet School, and Main Street Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School, addressing a critical need identified by nonprofit leaders.
Executive Director Ronnie Ritter emphasizes the alarming reality of children going home without adequate food, particularly over weekends. Through collaboration with local hunting clubs, the organization effectively channels surplus deer meat into this initiative, having provided over 180,000 packages to schools last year alone. Community leaders note the importance of ensuring children have sufficient nutrition to support their learning and development.
