ODWC Schedules Public Hearing on Hunting and Fishing Rules

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) invites the public to attend a hearing on November 6 to discuss proposed changes to hunting and fishing regulations, which will be held at the John D. Groendyke Wildlife Conservation Building in Oklahoma City. Among the noteworthy proposals is the regulation of drone usage for scouting wildlife and updates on permits for nonresident hunters accessing state wildlife management areas.

While many suggestions are aimed at refining existing rules, some address significant operational matters, including a new requirement for nonresidents to check in online before accessing certain zones. These changes reflect ongoing efforts by the ODWC to enhance management and conservation practices within Oklahoma’s wildlife framework, and public comments will be accepted both at the hearing and online until early November.
