A 22-year-old man from Schenectady, Trejon Faircloth, has been sentenced to four years in state prison after pleading guilty to possessing an illegal firearm on the New York State Thruway. The sentencing, announced by Albany County District Attorney Lee C. Kindlon, was handed down by Judge Andra Ackerman and follows an incident where Faircloth was pulled over for traffic violations, revealing more than just a suspended driver’s license.
Upon the police search of his vehicle, officers discovered a loaded .40 caliber handgun, along with a significant stash of narcotics including 149 grams of oxycodone and 84 grams of heroin. Additionally, cash and paraphernalia consistent with drug distribution were found, painting a concerning picture of Faircloth’s activities on the night of May 10. He will also face five years of post-release supervision after serving his prison time, highlighting the serious nature of his crimes.
