Shaquilla Ferguson, the suspect in a double shooting on Cincinnati’s Fountain Square, could soon be sentenced to prison after a judge ruled he will be held with no bond for violating his probation. Just three months after being convicted of a felony, Ferguson was involved in two shootings within days, including one that left a 19-year-old and a 16-year-old injured, using the same firearm in both incidents.
The Hamilton County Probation Department flagged Ferguson’s recent behavior, which includes violating essential terms of his probation by possessing a firearm, prohibited due to his prior conviction for aggravated assault. Assistant Prosecutor David Hickenlooper confirmed the linked evidence from crime scenes, leaving Ferguson facing serious charges that could amount to over 50 years in prison. His attorney claims the shooting was an act of self-defense, but a judge maintained a strict bond amount of $2.6 million, signaling the severity of the situation.
