A 19-year-old, Janari Spencer, is charged with attempted murder for allegedly opening fire on two Muskegon Township police officers during a harassment complaint response. The incident unfolded early on October 15 when police encountered Spencer, who reportedly fired a rifle at the officers; fortunately, neither officer was injured. This confrontation followed a separate incident earlier in the year, where Spencer allegedly assaulted a woman and shot into her apartment while urging her to “duck.”
Spencer’s recent charges include two counts of attempted murder, in addition to allegations stemming from another shooting incident earlier this year. He is currently in custody at Muskegon County Jail and is set for a probable cause hearing next month. The circumstances of both incidents raise significant community safety concerns, prompting police and local officials to urge vigilance in light of Spencer’s alleged criminal behavior.
