A man is shot and killed in the parking lot of his south Minneapolis workplace after confronting someone attempting to steal from a vehicle. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. when the victim, a Cornerstone Parking Group employee in his 40s, noticed the suspect rifling through a car and intervened, resulting in a brief struggle that ended with the suspect shooting him.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara described the situation as “senseless and tragic,” underscoring the remarkable safety typically associated with the neighborhood. Authorities have yet to make an arrest and are seeking information about the suspect, leaving the local community in shock over the violent turn of events during what began as a regular workday.
