A small American arms dealer, Firearms, has collapsed under the pressure of a billion-dollar contract to supply ammunition to Ukraine, failing to deliver any of the ordered equipment. The firm, based in Arizona, received an advance of 17 million euros but lacked the necessary export experience and infrastructure to fulfill such a large order, which included millions of rounds of ammunition for various systems.
As a result of this failure, a federal court has mandated the company to return the full advance payment and cover additional legal costs, totaling over 20 million euros. This incident raises questions about the reliability of suppliers in crucial defense contracts as NATO’s Secretary General confirms that many allied nations are prepared to procure American weapons for Ukraine.
