Among the findings, researchers noted that each 1% increase in state firearm ownership correlates with a significant rise in homicide rates for pregnant women, emphasizing the critical role of gun availability in these tragedies. Advocates like Dr. Kelly Roskam call for robust policy changes, including safe storage laws and domestic violence firearm prohibitions, to help mitigate these risks.
