Boulder police apprehend 34-year-old Jesse Ray James for allegedly brandishing a gun during a robbery at McGuckin Hardware. The incident occurred last Thursday when James attempted to steal merchandise and threatened two employees with a firearm, prompting them to step back in fear. Surveillance footage captures the dramatic moments, leading to James’s arrest on charges of aggravated robbery, felony menacing, and possessing a concealed weapon.
Officers located James at an encampment nearby, where they discovered clothes matching those seen in the surveillance video, along with a BB gun believed to be the weapon used in the robbery. Fortunately, no other individuals were threatened during the incident. The Boulder Police Department continues to investigate and urges anyone with information to come forward by calling their tipline.
