Florida parents Keishara B. Goodrum, 39, and Maurice Wayne Bright Jr., 40, are arrested after their four-year-old twin boys sustain gunshot wounds from a handgun discovered beneath a couch cushion in their home. Both children, who are reported to be in critical but stable condition, were taken to an Orlando hospital on Saturday following the incident.
According to law enforcement, the mother admitted to having been drinking the night before and had placed the firearm under the cushion without recalling it was there. The situation escalated when she heard a loud noise in the living room, only to find one of her sons injured; the second boy was discovered to have also been shot as they rushed to the hospital. Police later recovered three firearms from the couple’s residence, prompting an investigation into the case.
