Authorities in Shelby Township have dismantled a sophisticated multi-state drug trafficking operation, resulting in the arrest of three local men and the confiscation of approximately 1,500 pounds of marijuana along with over $380,000 in cash. According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, the operation involved sales of bulk marijuana to out-of-state buyers, circumventing Michigan’s legal market for the substance.
The raids, carried out by a specialized enforcement team, uncovered not only vast quantities of marijuana but also firearms and various controlled substances, including crack cocaine and THC products. The suspects, Mark Gojcaj, Fabio Asmar, and Martino Abed, face serious charges that could result in lengthy prison sentences. This operation highlights the ongoing challenges law enforcement faces in combating illegal drug activities that threaten community safety.
