Army Tests Next Generation Command System at Fort Carson

The U.S. Army is actively testing its Next Generation Command and Control system (NGC2) at Fort Carson, Colorado, aiming to revolutionize warfare by integrating advanced technologies like drones, artificial intelligence, and artillery. Recent exercises, including the Ivy Sting event, have seen soldiers significantly improve their response times, with equipment setups reduced from over an hour to just ten minutes.

NGC2 represents a shift from outdated command protocols, addressing the need for modern, mobile, and intuitive systems to combat near-peer adversaries. Incorporating feedback from soldiers, the Army plans to further enhance data integration, targeting capabilities, and overall combat effectiveness in future training exercises, including more complex scenarios involving electronic warfare.
