Advocates from organizations including Poder In Action and BLM PHX Metro are pushing for reforms, demanding the swift release of body camera footage and a freeze on the police budget while emphasizing that prior reforms have not adequately addressed police violence. Chief Giordano has acknowledged community concerns, outlining plans for additional officer training and the use of less-lethal tools, but skepticism lingers regarding the effectiveness of these measures amidst rising tensions.
