Harrisburg police confirm that two shootings on Monday evening are connected, with 32-year-old Javar Geter identified as the shooter. The first incident occurred around 6 p.m. on North 18th and Park streets, where 18-year-old Rakeeb Watson was shot multiple times and later died from his injuries, prompting witness accounts that describe a confrontation escalating from a physical fight to gunfire.
While authorities investigated the homicide, another victim with gunshot wounds was brought to UPMC Harrisburg Hospital around 8 p.m., leading police to link Geter to this second shooting in the 2400 block of Market Street. He turned himself in to police the following day and now faces multiple charges, including murder and attempted homicide. Both shootings are under active investigation as law enforcement urges anyone with information to come forward.
