Woman Denied Entry to Busch Gardens Over T-Shirt

Rachel Holley, a dedicated visitor to Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia, faces an unexpected hurdle when park security denies her entry for wearing a “Handguns” t-shirt. Aimed at promoting the punk band of the same name, Holley’s shirt features playful cartoon lettering and imagery, but security deemed it inappropriate for a family-friendly environment, stating it could send the wrong message to children.

After being instructed to change her shirt to comply with the park’s dress code, Holley expressed her frustration, especially after noticing similar designs and toy weapons sold in the park. A Busch Gardens spokesperson affirmed their commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming atmosphere, underscoring the responsibility of security officers to assess guest attire. Following the incident, the park is reviewing its policies, raising questions about the consistency in enforcement of dress codes among visitors.
