This past weekend, Ohio’s youth hunters successfully checked a total of 9,759 deer during their special hunting weekend, approaching the three-year average of 9,990. Among these, 5,224 were antlered deer and 4,535 antlerless, showcasing the potential for robust deer populations in the area as the main deer season approaches.
Counties like Coshocton and Knox led in successful checks, with 319 and 317 deer, respectively, indicating popular hunting grounds. As the upcoming statewide gun season for all ages kicks off on December 1, these early results build excitement for hunters ready to take to the fields.
