Turkish customs officials recently seized a cache of 47 firearms, including 41 Glock handguns known as ‘ghost guns’, from a ship arriving in the Mediterranean port of Mersin from the U.S. A detailed inspection revealed that these weapons were cleverly concealed inside two vehicles within a shipping container. This discovery highlights the risks associated with illicit arms shipments and the growing concern over gun trafficking.

Following the seizure, authorities arrested four individuals, including the representative of the importing company, indicating the seriousness of the operation and the potential implications for local security. This incident poses questions about the accountability in international arms shipments and efforts to combat gun violence.
