A Cle Elum man, Drew Harold Wood, 34, faces multiple charges including second-degree burglary after allegedly breaking into a residence on West Fifth Street. The disturbance was reported when the homeowner heard a voice exclaiming in disbelief from his garage, leading police to a scene where a crowbar and sleeping bag were found, along with evidence of a forced entry into a gun safe.
Upon police arrival, Wood was spotted nearby and later identified by the homeowner. Investigators discovered a boot print matching Wood’s footwear near the scene, along with a black garbage bag containing stolen items. With a record of five felonies and numerous gross misdemeanors such as assault and DUI, Wood’s bail has been set at $20,000, with an arraignment hearing scheduled for December 4.
