An 18-year-old man, Santos Figueroa Alvarenga, is arrested following a frightening incident at Town Center Mall in Boca Raton, Florida, where a fight led to fears of gunfire. The panic erupted during a busy shopping weekend as shoppers rushed for safety after police were called to the food court at around 2:30 p.m., responding to reports of a possible shooting.
Alvarenga, who was with family, lifted his shirt to reveal a firearm tucked in his waistband after he was aggressively approached by three men involved in the altercation. Fortunately, no shots were fired, and surveillance footage confirmed that a shooting did not occur. Alvarenga now faces a charge of possession of a concealed weapon under the age of 21 and was later released on a $5,000 bond.
