Currently, it holds a 60 percent approval rating, down from 72 percent earlier in the year, with opposition rising to 32 percent, according to The Elway Poll.
Conversely, Initiative 591, which prohibits expanded background checks without a national standard, faces even greater challenges, as opponents now lead supporters 44 to 39. The shifting dynamics in voter sentiment are amplified by prominent endorsements, such as that of Dan Evans, former Republican senator and governor, who recently announced his support for Initiative 594.
