A Gwinnett County court has sentenced Jet Horne, a 20-year-old Snellville man, to 30 years in prison for a series of violent crimes, including the shooting of a high-school basketball teammate. Horne, found guilty of multiple charges including aggravated assault, hijacking a motor vehicle, and criminal damage to property, has brought a wave of shock and concern to the local community, especially after his first victim was shot eight times in December 2023.

District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson expressed relief at the conviction and a wish for the victims’ recovery, underscoring the serious nature of Horne’s crimes that have left lasting impacts on the community.
