The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission announces the opening of applications for special quail hunts at two wildlife management areas, Stone Prairie WMA and Little Bayou WMA. Scheduled for December 13-14, 2025, and January 10-11, 2026, these hunts are designed to provide quality upland bird hunting experiences while ensuring the sustainability of northern bobwhite populations.
To participate, hunters must apply for a special hunting permit, available from December 1-7 and from December 29 to January 4 for the respective hunts. Up to four hunters can be included in each permit, with a special emphasis on involving youth in the hunting experience. With a limit of four quail per person, the introduction of these managed hunts marks a significant step in northern bobwhite management in Arkansas, responding to the growing interest in upland hunting.
