A 10th grader has been suspended for a year after bringing a firearm to Red Springs High School in Robeson County on Tuesday, highlighting ongoing concerns about student safety. Following reports from other students who witnessed the weapon, school officials, along with a resource officer, conducted a search and recovered the gun from the student’s property.
Robeson Schools Chief Communications Officer Jessica Sealey emphasizes the importance of community vigilance, stating, “Safety remains our top priority and we are committed to ensuring safe learning environments for all students.” The state law mandates a 365-day suspension for any student found with a firearm on school property, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols in educational institutions.
