Authorities have arrested Luqmaan Khan, a 25-year-old Wilmington resident, for allegedly possessing a machinegun and planning a possible mass attack. During a routine traffic stop, New Castle County police discovered a cache of weapons in Khan’s vehicle, including a loaded .357 caliber Glock handgun, multiple magazines, and a handwritten notebook detailing potential attacks and evading law enforcement.
The search of Khan’s home yielded further alarming findings, such as a Glock 19 with an illegal conversion device and a .556 rifle, raising significant public safety concerns. Acting U.S. Attorney Julianne E. Murray highlighted the collaborative efforts between federal and state authorities in thwarting a grave threat to the community before it escalated. If convicted, Khan faces up to ten years in prison for his charges.
