Stella Ross, a 28-year-old woman from Louisiana, is sentenced to four years in federal prison after threatening a security guard with a gun at a Social Security office in Sioux City. In a brazen act on September 3, 2024, Ross pointed a firearm at a Protective Security Officer and issued death threats, later documenting her actions on Facebook Live, where she also made additional threats and used racial slurs against law enforcement.
After her arrest, federal authorities discovered the firearm and ammunition at her residence. During sentencing, U.S. District Court Judge Leonard T. Strand emphasized the severity of Ross’s actions, which included a guilty plea to multiple assault-related charges. Upon completing her prison term, Ross will serve a five-year supervised release, highlighting the long-lasting consequences of her criminal behavior.
