NJ Twins Charged with Threats Against DHS Officials

Two twins from New Jersey, Ricardo Antonio Roman-Flores and Emilio Roman-Flores, are arrested for making violent threats against Department of Homeland Security officials, including Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin. The brothers allegedly posted on social media that they wanted to “shoot ICE on sight” and expressed intentions to torture and kill McLaughlin, referencing historical acts of violence against authorities during the Revolutionary War.

The arrests come amid a notable increase in threats against Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, reported to have surged by 8,000% in fiscal year 2025. Emilio, one of the twins, faces multiple charges including unlawful possession of an assault weapon and conspiracy terroristic threats. Officials, including Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons, have condemned the threats, emphasizing the serious legal repercussions those who threaten law enforcement will face.
