Authorities arrest five suspects following an armed robbery at the Hot Seats casino in Umatilla around midnight on Thursday. According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, three armed assailants wearing ski masks stormed the establishment, threatening a security guard and demanding cash and cell phones from patrons.
Law enforcement tracked the suspects to a nearby area after they abandoned their getaway vehicle, a grey Hyundai. All four male suspects face serious charges including armed robbery and aggravated assault, while a fifth, the driver of an accomplice vehicle, is charged with aiding in the crime. Investigators discovered over $1,400 in cash inside the Altima, which is linked to other robberies in Pinellas County, raising concerns about a broader criminal operation.
