A 27-year-old Willmar man, Frederick Rodriguez, faces an omnibus hearing in Kandiyohi County District Court Wednesday on a range of serious charges, including multiple felonies. The charges stem from a high-speed pursuit through neighborhoods near Ridgewater College in October, where authorities discovered an array of weapons, body armor, and illegal drugs in his vehicle.
During the chase on October 12, police located a shotgun, an assault rifle, ammunition, and a stash of methamphetamine in Rodriguez’s Chevy Tahoe. In addition to drug-related offenses, he is charged with fleeing police and possessing a silencer, following a troubled history that includes previous felony convictions for robbery and domestic assault. Rodriguez remains in custody with a bail set at $200,000, raising questions about his ongoing criminal activities and their implications for community safety.
