Arkansas hunters can look forward to enhanced quail hunting opportunities as the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission introduces permit-based hunts at two wildlife management areas. Scheduled for December 13-14, 2025, and January 10-11, 2026, these hunts celebrate the success of long-term habitat restoration efforts, attracting groups of up to four hunters with the goal of encouraging youth participation.
As duck season resumes with the second segment opening on December 10, cold weather in the north raises optimism for improved conditions in the Mississippi Flyway. Spokesperson Trey Reid notes that while rainfall is crucial for certain habitats, the influx of colder temperatures is expected to bring in more duck populations. With permit applications for both waterfowl and quail hunting open, hunters are urged to act quickly to secure their opportunities for the upcoming weekends.
