Member of Parliament Helena Konanz has reiterated her urgent appeal for the renewal of the Penticton Shooting Sports Association’s lease, which expires in just weeks. Speaking in the House of Commons, Konanz emphasized the association’s vital role as a training facility for local law enforcement and a safe space for community members to learn firearms safety, stating, “Unless action is taken before December 31, it will be forced to close forever.”

The MP’s advocacy is bolstered by a unanimous motion from fellow MPs supporting the lease extension, highlighting the importance of such training resources for agencies like the RCMP. Konanz continues to urge the Minister of Agriculture to reconsider the decision ahead of the fast-approaching deadline.
