The Youth Peace & Justice Foundation (YPJF) announces a ceasefire meeting scheduled for December 12 in Stockton, where representatives from four rival gangs will gather to discuss peace efforts following a recent mass shooting that claimed four lives. This initiative, prompted by the foundation’s mission to address gun violence since its establishment after the Uvalde school shooting, hopes to bring local clergy and community leaders into the dialogue for a safer city.
The meeting’s location remains confidential to ensure participant safety, and while law enforcement is not directly involved, YPJF emphasizes a neutral, community-based approach. The foundation has also offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the shooting case, adding to a total of $130,000 in rewards from multiple organizations aimed at enhancing safety and fostering long-term violence prevention strategies in Stockton.
