One notable case includes the shooting of a 75-year-old man, injured during an attack that targeted a rival gang member.
Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch emphasized the gangs’ blatant disregard for public safety, as some suspects boasted about their violent acts on social media. The investigation led to the seizure of 15 firearms, aiming to curb rampant gun violence amid a backdrop of decreasing overall crime rates in the city.
