Yanira Maria Denton, 32, and Carlos Rosa-Mendez, 24, face serious charges after allegedly luring a man to an apartment in Miami’s Riverside area, where they beat him and held him at gunpoint while demanding money. The victim, who had arranged to meet Denton for drinks, revealed that Rosa-Mendez attacked him and threatened his life to secure his belongings, including cash and electronic payment transfer.
The confrontation escalated when the assailants demanded further funds, but the victim managed to call for assistance, leading to the suspects’ arrest after a prolonged standoff with police. Notably, the suspects remained inside the apartment for several hours before surrendering, and the victim sustained visible injuries consistent with his claims. Both suspects are now in custody, with Denton being held without bond and Rosa-Mendez’s bond pending.
