Moore Police Shooting: 19-Year-Old Man Dies After Confrontation

A 19-year-old man has died after being shot by Moore police while they responded to a stabbing call late Thursday evening. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. when officers arrived at the 300 block of Butler Street, where two victims were found inside a home.

As officers were at the scene, James Collier emerged from the residence wielding a large machete. Despite repeated commands to drop the weapon, he advanced toward the officers, leading them to fire their weapons and strike him in the upper body. Collier was taken to a local hospital along with the stabbing victims, who are expected to recover, but he succumbed to his injuries shortly after. The investigation into the officers’ use of force is ongoing.
