Harris County Public Health is set to launch the R.I.S.E. Empowerment Center in Cypress Station, a community resource designed to combat gun violence and crime. Named after the R.I.S.E. program, the center will offer critical support services, aiming to connect residents with necessary resources to achieve self-sufficiency and heal from trauma associated with violence.
Officials held a soft opening on June 3, 2025, and once fully staffed later this year, the center will welcome the community to its new facility. The initiative targets areas identified as having high gun violence rates while lacking essential services, ensuring outreach teams engage with individuals at risk and facilitate access to jobs, health services, and supportive resources.
