St. Louis Couple Faces Prison for Botched Kidnapping

Emma M. Cunningham, 32, and Jervonz L. Williams, 49, plead guilty to serious charges, including attempted kidnapping and armed robbery, in a case stemming from a violent incident last August. The couple attacked an apartment property manager during what was supposed to be a routine walkthrough, binding and threatening her life before she managed to escape.

Williams, a felon, possessed a firearm allegedly provided by Cunningham, with the pair’s criminal activities ranging from intimidation to robbery of a drug dealer. Their guilty pleas may lead to up to 20 years in prison for each charge, as authorities emphasize the importance of the case in combating violent crime through coordinated efforts within the Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative.
