Chicago police have arrested a 19-year-old man, Eduardo Carmona, in connection with a series of armed robberies across the city. The investigation gained momentum after Carmona allegedly attempted to rob a business in Jefferson Park and successfully robbed several others, including two businesses in Bucktown and Albany Park, over a three-week period.
During his arrest in Bronzeville, officers recovered a firearm equipped with a laser sight and an extended magazine, along with cash stolen from the robberies. Carmona now faces multiple felony charges, including five counts of armed robbery and one count of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon. Authorities believe he may be linked to an additional robbery in a nearby suburb, raising concerns about the ongoing pattern of violence.
