A 20-year-old man has been charged with armed robbery after police allege he assaulted and robbed victims at gunpoint on a Northwest D.C. street. The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Friday night in the 200 block of W Street, where the suspect, later identified as Jalen Shelton, reportedly brandished a firearm and demanded property from his victims.
Shortly after the robbery, authorities made an unrelated arrest and discovered Shelton in possession of a firearm and items that matched the description of the stolen goods. The investigation is ongoing, and the Metropolitan Police Department is encouraging anyone with additional information to come forward, offering a reward of up to $10,000 for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of violent criminals in the area.
