The Philippine National Police (PNP) has identified 691 violators of the gun ban instituted for the upcoming 2025 national and local elections, highlighting a significant law enforcement challenge. Among those apprehended are 650 civilians and 22 security personnel, with the National Capital Region reporting the highest number of offenses at 206.
In addition to the violations, police have confiscated 692 firearms, including 269 revolvers and 208 pistols, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure safety during the election period. The PNP conducted over 186,000 checkpoint operations, underscoring their commitment to maintaining public order amid heightened political tensions.
