1. Trijicon ACOG 4×32 BAC Illuminated Riflescope
Perfect for those die-hard competitors, this riflescope certainly ranks at the top. This top ACOG scope is ideal for little to no light situations and for shooting with “both eyes open.” A popular ACOG scope with the US military and law enforcement, this scope does not come cheap.
Though the price is high, this scope delivers. The battery-free scope is built with 7075-T6 aircraft-aluminum-alloy housing for extreme durability. For those concerned with how much weight is added to your rifle, the scope weights 10.5 oz. without the mount.
The bullet drop compensating reticle allows out to 800 meters for 5.56 (.223 cal.). The only downside to this scope is the eye relief, which is at 1.5 in, and provides a field of view of 7.0 (Degrees). The illumination is what makes this scope standout as the aiming point is visible even in total darkness.
2. Trijicon ACOG 3.5×35 Riflescope
As one of the best ACOG scopes on the market, this one is for those who are not as concerned with the weight added to their rifle, 14 oz. without mount, and are looking for more eye relief, 2.4 in. providing a field of view of 5.5 (Degrees).
The magnification goes up to 3.5x, so this is not an ideal scope for any close quarters combat use. This scope is available with a range of reticles and has a bullet drop compensation out 800 meters. This scope is also battery-free, and illuminates with tritium/fiber optics. The price is just under $900, but it’s made with 7075-T6 aircraft-aluminum-alloy housing, so it will last you a very, very long time.
3. Trijicon ACOG 3×30 Riflescope
This is one of the best ACOG scope because it provides variable illumination. This scope provides a choice of the Dual Illuminated Amber Chevron .2223 Ballistic Reticle or a Dual Illuminated 9.0 MOA Amber Dot Reflex Sight.
Unfortunately, though it is one of the top ACOG scopes, if you’re looking to go “wireless,” you’ll need a battery, albeit a single AA, but with that one battery, you’ll get around 10,000 hours of illumination. The bullet drop compensating reticle is standard and is visible even in somewhat less-than-desirable lighting conditions.
Both LED models provide six adjustable brightness settings. Trijicon lists the eye relief as 1.9 in, but users have stated they find it to be much more like 3-4 inches. However, the field of view is minimal at 3.7. The weight is also ideal at 7.7 oz., and has 3x magnification. As a slightly less expensive Trijicon scope, many buyers find themselves just as satisfied with this scope as with a 4×32.
4. WOLTIS ACOG RC 1×32 Scope
Scoping on a budget? Running at around $50, the WOLTIS ACOG RC 1×32 is one of the best ACOG scopes for your price point. The scope requires no batteries and provides unlimited eye relief. The magnification is 1x, so there’s not much of that, but the lenses are clear.
It is not nitrogen-filled like many other ACOG scopes, but it does provide ample durability for the casual hunter or shooter with shockproof, weatherproof, and sealed housing. This is a highly affordable scope to use in daylight as the power source fiber does not illuminate as much as its competitors.
5. TACKSPORT ACOG 4×32 Scope
As a slightly more expensive scope than the WOLTIS, the TACKSPORT offers much more in terms of magnification and illumination, thus earning a place as one of the best ACOG scopes on the market.
Also made with aircraft-grade aluminum alloy, the scope offers stronger durability. The eye relief is about 2.75 in. (listed as 70 mm), providing a field of view about 6.15. As opposed to the WOLTIS, this scope is nitrogen filled to
prevent that infernally annoying internal fogging. At approximately $90, this top ACOG scope combines quality with affordability.
6. UUQ Prism 4×32 Red/Green/Blue Illuminated Scope
At the same price point as the WOLTIS, the UUQ Prism stands out as one of the best ACOG scopes that isn’t a Trijicon. Nitrogen filled, shockproof, sealed, and rainproof, this scope is highly durable and ideal for most any type of weather.
The field of view is comparable to the Trijicon ACOG 4×32 at 7 Degrees. Though it does require batteries, if you prefer illuminating variety, this scope offers 5 brightness settings for each color: red, green, and blue. That’s 15 options!
The prism scope is unique in that the reticle is etched into the glass and illuminates if batteries die. The bullet drop compensating rapid ranging reticle offers easy adjustability to sight your target and is ideal for close quarter battle scenarios.
Conclusion
When seeking the overall best quality, you’re sure to go with a Trijicon, but if you’re looking for both quality and affordability, the WOLTIS, TACKSPORT, or UUQ Prism scopes are all top ACOG scopes with which to start your foray into ACOG scopes.
