7-Month-Old Shot by 5-Year-Old in Cincinnati Incident

In a troubling incident in West Price Hill, Cincinnati, a 5-year-old accidentally shot his 7-month-old sibling in the thigh Saturday night, leading to the arrest of their father, Martez Jones. Police report that Jones, 22, left a loaded handgun on a windowsill in the children’s bedroom, which the young child accessed while Jones was briefly out of the room.

The injured infant was transported to Children’s Hospital; however, authorities have yet to disclose the severity of the child’s injuries. Jones now faces three counts of child endangerment as investigators continue to delve into the circumstances surrounding this alarming case, highlighting the dangers of unsecured firearms in households with young children.
