A U.S. district court has sentenced Michael Lott, Dianta Tropez, and Vernell Woodard to decades in prison for their roles in an attempted armed robbery that severely injured an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms (ATF) agent during an undercover drug transaction. The judge handed down sentences spanning from 17 to 25 years following their guilty pleas, which stem from a violent altercation that left the agent paralyzed from the neck down.

The incident highlights the dangers of undercover operations, raising crucial questions about the safety of law enforcement engaged in narcotics investigations.
