Jacksonville Man Sentenced for Illegal Gun Sales

Ty’shon Damon’n Ramos, a 26-year-old from Jacksonville, is sentenced to 37 months in federal prison for illegally selling firearms to a convicted felon. This sentence follows Ramos’ guilty plea, where he acknowledged selling a rifle and pistol for $1,500 to an informant he knew was prohibited from owning firearms due to a felony conviction.

The investigation leading to Ramos’ arrest highlights a broader initiative under Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), which aims to reduce gun violence by reinforcing law enforcement cooperation with community efforts. The illegal firearms involved were linked to increased crime in the area, making this case a crucial part of ongoing strategies to improve neighborhood safety and combat illicit gun usage.
