A Steuben County jail inmate, 22-year-old Zachary J.D. Courtney, has been charged with multiple felonies, including robbery in the first degree and gang assault, following a violent incident last fall in the Town of Dansville. Authorities arrested Courtney on Friday at the county jail, executing an arrest warrant linked to a shocking robbery that involved the use of a firearm to steal property valued over $1,000 while assaulting a victim with at least two accomplices.
According to Sheriff Jim Allard, Courtney faces a total of six serious charges stemming from the September 2024 crime. After an arraignment in Centralized Arraignment Court, he was returned to custody as the case continues to unfold.
