Man Fires on Feds, Linked to Illegal Machine Gun Sales

A 26-year-old man opened fire on federal agents attempting to execute a search warrant at his home in Bristol, Florida, as part of an investigation into the illegal manufacture and sale of machine guns. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) alleges that John Caleb Allen not only produced machine guns from steel and aluminum but also utilized 3D printing technology for some of these illegal firearms.

Following the encounter, where Allen allegedly wounded several agents, he faces multiple charges, including assaulting a federal officer and illegal possession of machine guns. His case is part of a larger initiative aimed at combating gun violence linked to drug cartels and criminal organizations. Allen is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 30, where he will appear in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Martin A. Fitzpatrick.
