A 26-year-old man opened fire on federal agents attempting to execute a search warrant at his home in Bristol, Florida, as part of an investigation into the illegal manufacture and sale of machine guns. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) alleges that John Caleb Allen not only produced machine guns from steel and aluminum but also utilized 3D printing technology for some of these illegal firearms.

Allen is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 30, where he will appear in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Martin A. Fitzpatrick.
