Adrian Peterson Arrested in Texas on DWI and Gun Charges

Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson has been arrested in a Sugar Land suburb of Houston on charges of driving while intoxicated and unlawfully carrying a weapon. This incident marks the second DWI arrest for Peterson, the 2012 NFL MVP and three-time rushing champion, within the past seven months, raising concerns about his legal troubles.

Peterson, who moved on from a notable football career at the University of Oklahoma to a successful 15-season NFL tenure, was apprehended after attending an NFL draft event for Minnesota Vikings fans. His previous arrest for suspected DUI occurred in Minnesota earlier this year, following a traffic stop for speeding. As one of only nine running backs to rush for over 2,000 yards in a single season, Peterson’s recent legal issues starkly contrast with his celebrated athletic legacy.
