An Albuquerque man, Demetrius Antonnie Bailey, is sentenced to 22 years in prison for his involvement in a string of armed robberies committed in 2023. Court documents reveal that Bailey, 41, along with an accomplice, carried out heists at various locations including Harbor Freight Tools and multiple Metro by T-Mobile stores, using a mix of weapons—including a BB gun and a handgun—to threaten employees during the crimes.
Bailey pled guilty to 10 counts related to the robberies, in which they stole tens of thousands of dollars worth of cash, clothing, and electronics. Upon his release, he is expected to serve five years of supervised probation, raising questions about community safety and crime deterrence post-incarceration.
